WHY CAN I NOT ORDER ANY CAKES OR CUPCAKES ANYMORE?

At the moment, we’re taking a little break from custom cake and cupcake orders. Between a full-time job and our ever-growing workshop schedule, things have gotten very busy, like, 7-days-a-week busy. To protect the joy (and sanity 😅), we’re hitting pause on custom orders for now.


"Will my already placed order still be fulfilled?"
Absolutely! If your order is confirmed, it will still be lovingly made and delivered as promised. No worries there 💛


"Are workshops still happening?"
Oh yes, definitely! Workshops are what light us up the most. And guess what? New workshop formats are launching soon😌. Stay tuned!

HOW TO ORDER

To request a product, simply head over to our Shop section and follow the provided steps. Once we have confirmed the necessary details and everything is in order, we will send you a payment link. As soon as the payment is made, we will finalize your order and start the preparation process.

PAYMENT METHODS

We've set things up a little differently here, but we promise it's for good reason. To ensure we can fulfill your order, we kindly ask that you submit an inquiry first by using the order form. We want to make sure we have all the information we need to provide you with the best possible experience.


We understand your excitement to place an order, but we want to ensure we can deliver on our promise before accepting payment. We take into account factors such as time, product availability, and your wishes.


Once we've confirmed that we can fulfill your order, we'll send you a detailed price proposal and a link for payment.


And the most asked question: Does Cakes Nederland offer Klarna, or other afterwards payment? 

No, we don't. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis, so securing your order with payment is crucial. Unfortunately, we've previously experienced some last-minute cancellations, which can be inconvenient for both us and other customers. By pre-paying, we reserve a spot for you and turn away other potential customers.


But don't worry, once you've paid, your order and spot are confirmed! We'll be sure to send you the pick-up details afterward. To avoid any cancellations and ensure your spot, please proceed with the upfront payment.

HOW FAR AHEAD OF TIME SHOULD I BOOK MY ORDER?

The sooner you get in touch with us, the better we can up our baking game. We're not full-time bakers, so we have to be smart with our time. Therefore, our order slots for the month fill up fast, and some ingredients and decorations need to be ordered from other places. Therefore, we politely ask you to help us out by placing your order in advance. We don't want to have to say 'no' to anyone, so let's avoid that and work together to make your cake dreams a reality. Just a friendly reminder: your order is confirmed only when you pay within 24 hours. For last-minute orders within 6 hours. We cannot hold spots for you, as it operates on a first-come, first-served basis.


P.S. - If you're placing a last-minute order (within 4 working days of pick-up/delivery), we'll need to charge an extra €15,00 fee. Thanks for understanding!

LAST MINUTE ORDERS

We love creating cakes and cupcakes for your special moments, but custom orders require planning.

  • Custom orders must be placed at least 3 days in advance.
  • Need a cake sooner? If there’s a spot available in our schedule, we may be able to squeeze in a last-minute order.
  • Acceptance depends on the complexity of the order and our current workload.
  • Rush orders incur an additional fee of €15,00.

WHY CAN'T I ORDER A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF CUPCAKES? IS IT STILL POSSIBLE TO ORDER?

We wanted to drop some knowledge on why we're only selling our cupcakes in specific box amounts. We know some of you were hoping to snag a certain number of cupcakes, but we only sell our Mini Cupcakes in boxes of 12, 24, 36, 48 (and beyond) and our Regular Cupcakes in boxes of 6, 12, 24, 36 (and beyond).


We get it, it's a bit of a bummer when you have a specific cupcake craving, but hear us out. We've got a legit reason for this. We don't want any empty space in our boxes, which is why we opted for this specific cupcake-to-box ratio. We'd rather see a box full of our delicious cupcakes, than empty spaces where cupcakes should be.


Plus, our cupcakes are pretty freaking amazing, so why not grab a whole box and share the love with your crew (or just an extra cupcake for yourself)?

WHAT STYLE CAKES DO YO DO? 

We specialize in creating buttercream cakes and cupcakes with either Swiss Meringue Buttercream of our cream cheese mixture. We often get asked about whipping up some amazing fondant cakes or funky fondant figures. While they're seriously cool and eye-catching, it's not really our vibe or specialty, so we'll leave that to our fellow bakers.


Don't get us wrong, though, we're totally down to help bring your cake/cupcake dreams to life! We're all about being original and unique, so let's work together to find a solution that incorporates your theme in an awesome order!

CAN I MAKE CHANGES TO MY ORDER?

Absolutely! You can totally make small changes to your order, but give us at least 3 days heads up, okay? And please, don't send changes on Instagram. Just reply to the last email we sent you, and we'll confirm all changes with you via email, too. Easy peasy, right?

CANCELLATIONS BY CAKES NEDERLAND

We hope it never comes to that 💛, but yes – in some cases we may need to cancel an order.


Because we’re a small business with limited production time, we can only reserve a spot in our schedule once your order is confirmed and paid. If we don’t receive payment or a reply to our confirmation messages in time, your order may be cancelled.


In rare cases, we might also have to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, like illness or technical issues. If that ever happens, we’ll let you know as soon as possible and refund any payment in full.

We specialize in creating custom cakes and cupcakes that are unique and beautiful. If you have any inspirational pictures of cakes you've seen online, feel free to share them with us. While we use these images as a guide, we always add our own magic touch to make something truly special. Every custom order is unique! Trust the process and let's work together to create some cake magic!

VEGAN, ALLERGIES AND DIETS

We're whipping up some seriously delish treats in our kitchen, but it's important to know that we use dairy, eggs, nuts, and soy in our baking. If you have an allergy or if you're embracing the vegan lifestyle, let us know ahead of time so we can accommodate your needs.


We can make your order vegan or allergy-friendly using some seriously awesome ingredients like plant-based butter, vegan cream cheese, and aquafaba, creating the fluffiest, most delicious vegan cakes and buttercream you've ever tasted.


We're all about accommodating your dietary needs and doing our best to make your order as allergy-free as possible. But hey, just a heads up - there's always a chance that your order might contain traces of allergens. Therefore, ordering from us is at your own risk.

DELIVERY

For sure, we can deliver your order! But just a heads up, we only do deliveries in the Utrecht area. The minimum spent for delivery is €75,00. Keep in mind that there's gonna be an extra cost for delivery, but we'll calculate that based on the distance from our cake palace to the drop-off point. It's all good, we got you. 


Delivery prices in Utrecht: €10,00 per delivery date

Outside Utrecht: Starting from €0,25 per kilometer. Keep in mind it is x2, because we also need to drive back to Utrecht. 

TRANSPORT YOUR ORDER

Transporting a custom cake with a car can be a little tricky, but there are definitely some things you can do to make sure it arrives at its destination in one piece! It's important to keep the cake level during transport, which you can achieve by placing it on a flat surface, such as the floor of the car or the trunk.


Take it slow and steady on the road! Avoid any sudden stops or sharp turns, and try to keep the cake as still as possible during transport.

CAKE STORAGE

We recommend eating your cake within 48 hours. But if you have any leftover cake, you can store it for up to 3 months in the freezer (assuming the cake makes it to the freezer, of course! xD).
